How You Can Find Relief with EMDR Intensive Therapy

If you’re feeling stuck in the weight of painful memories, overwhelming stress, or emotions that seem impossible to shake, there is a way forward. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Intensive Therapy provides a path to faster healing without the drawn-out process of weekly therapy. This targeted, accelerated method allows you to address and heal from past trauma more effectively, helping you break free from patterns that have kept you from moving on.

A study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health found that 91% of individuals treated with EMDR no longer had PTSD after eight sessions, compared to 72% in a group treated with fluoxetine (an antidepressant). Additionally, while the fluoxetine group experienced symptom relapse after stopping the medication, the EMDR group continued to improve over time, showing how powerful and hopeful this approach can be.

Why Does EMDR Intensive Therapy Matter?

EMDR Intensive Therapy provides a powerful opportunity to break free from the emotional burden of trauma in a condensed timeframe. It matters because it allows you to dive deep into the healing process without waiting months for progress.

By focusing on specific memories and experiences, this therapy rewires how your brain responds to past pain, helping you release its grip on your present life. For those who feel overwhelmed by stress, trauma, or emotional blocks, EMDR Intensives offer a clear and effective path to healing and regaining control of your life.

How can we help…

What is an EMDR Intensive?

EMDR Intensives are a focused way to work through trauma and painful memories more quickly. Instead of going to therapy week after week, you can schedule a few longer sessions and make progress in a much shorter time. This approach helps speed up the healing process, allowing you to get results faster.

Many people find that they can accomplish in just a few days what might take months in regular weekly therapy. The intensive format gives us more time to focus deeply on your experiences, which leads to quicker and more lasting change. It’s a more efficient way to move forward when you’re ready to heal.

How do EMDR Intensives work?

Free Consultation

In our consultation, we’ll talk about whether an EMDR Intensive is the right fit for you. We’ll walk through the process, answer your questions, set expectations, and make sure it aligns with your needs and goals.

90 Minute Pre-Intensive Session

We’ll start the intensive with a 90-minute session to lay the groundwork. In this time, we’ll talk about your personal history, clarify your goals, and go over what to expect during the process.

Customized Client Workbook

You’ll get a personalized Client Workbook to help you get ready for the intensive. This helps us start the process early, so we can go deeper and make faster progress when we begin our sessions.

Intensive Sessions

Each intensive session is 3 hours long, giving us time to fully explore and work on the root of the issue. We’ll take breaks as needed and make sure the pace feels comfortable for you. You stay in control throughout, guiding the direction of your healing.

90 Minute Post-Intensive Session

We’ll wrap up the intensive with a 90-minute debrief session, where we’ll go over the important moments from your experience and talk about what’s next in your healing process. It’s a chance to reflect and plan for continued progress.

Common Questions About EMDR Intensives

  • EMDR Intensives are not typically covered by insurance. However, in some cases, you may be able to submit a Superbill or receipt to your insurance provider, which could allow for partial reimbursement of the cost.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required when you book your intensive, with the remaining balance due on the first day of your session.

  • Cancellations made within two weeks of the Pre-Intensive Interview are subject to full payment for the entire intensive program.

  • When we do EMDR, we’ll revisit your traumatic memories in a structured way. Using guided eye movements, you’ll reprocess these memories, helping your brain heal. It’s like giving your mind the space to work through the pain, so those memories no longer weigh you down.

  • Through EMDR, we’ll tackle tough memories and emotions, which can feel draining at times. This therapy dives into the trauma and negative beliefs you’ve been holding onto, allowing your brain to process and reframe them. It takes work, but the outcome can lead to lasting relief and meaningful change.
