DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

INVENTORY

The Domestic Violence Inventory (DVI) is an evidence-based self-report test that is used to evaluate adults (males and females) accused or convicted of domestic violence.

Only online in Oklahoma

You have been court-ordered to complete a DVI as part of your probation or parole?

The DVI is used by court-appointed evaluators, psychologists, probation officers, counselors, mental health professionals, and others. The DVI is a domestic violence offender risk assessment instrument or test.

The Domestic Violence Inventory (DVI) is a popular domestic violence offender test that has been administered to over 85,000 domestic violence offenders. The DVI facilitates early problem identification, which promotes intervention and as warranted, treatment while enabling accurate matching of problem severity with treatment intensity.

Common questions about the process of completing a DVI.

  • You will have your initial consultation as one appointment. Once your DVI has been paid in FULL; you will be able to schedule your DVI session. So in all, you will be attending two separate appointments.

  • Nope! Everything we do will be online and within the SimplePractice Portal. You can be located anywhere in Oklahoma with a strong internet connection and a private/confidential space.

  • Unfortunately, no. You will need to find a quiet space with no distractions or interruptions with no one else present during the time of your scheduled session. Your scheduled DVI will be canceled and a rescheduling fee will be charged if you are unable to find a secure, private, and confidential setting.

  • After you have completed the Domestic Violence Inventory and paid in FULL, Melinda S. Schuster, M.A., LPC will evaluate all information gathered during the assessment, and inventory along with all required documentation. Once completed, she will upload your DVI into your chart for you to download and provide to your probation or parole officer.

  • Please allow up to two weeks to receive your complete evaluation from Melinda S. Schuster, M.A., LPC. Also note, this timeframe only applies if all your steps have been completed and received.
